Charity

Our Chosen charity partner is Future Dreams, Future Dreams started in 2008 by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie. By a cruel twist of fate they were both diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Danielle just 35 and a mother of 3 young children. Tragically both women lost their lives to the disease within a year of each other in 2009. Their dream to was to make sure that nobody should ever have to face this illness on their own.

Every October the beauty industry group together to help raise awareness for Future Dreams and Breast Cancer, raising more money every year.

Louella Belle was founded by Lisa Crook. Lisa was originally diagnosed and subsequently treated for breast cancer in 2007. Despite a bleak prognosis, following treatment, Lisa initially recovered to live a full life, committed to family, friends, and her love of work.

In addition to becoming an ambassador for Future Dreams, Lisa co-founded the Nail Breast Cancer campaign. Nail Breast Cancer raises money for Future Dreams through various initiatives that typically involve salons, nail technicians and affiliates in the industry.

Following Lisa’s passing in December 2017, Louella Belle directors, Jamie and Darren Crook have become ambassadors for Future Dreams and continue to support the Nail Breast Cancer campaign as well as supporting Future Dreams through donations and events throughout the year.

More about Future Dreams

Over 50,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year, the equivalent of one person every 10 minutes according to Breast Cancer Care. To date Future Dreams has raised over £6.3m pledging funds towards the charities three aims - support, awareness and research, focusing on secondary breast cancer.

Late 2019, Future Dreams got the go ahead to build Future Dreams House, the new London home to breast cancer haven!

Future Dreams is thrilled to announce confirmation of planning approval to open Future Dreams House which will be national charity Breast Cancer Haven’s flagship London breast cancer support centre, following the closure of their Fulham site in 2019. The House will be located on Birkenhead Street, within a minute’s walk from King’s Cross station, a site which is accessible to patients from 15 hospitals across the Capital.

As the soon-to-be only complementary breast cancer support centre in London, the centre will provide therapies that address the physical and emotional symptoms and side effects of each woman's medical treatment. Function support will include image workshops, life-coaching, financial advice and nutritional advice on exercise and healthy eating; all completely free of charge.

Perhaps the most vital function of FDH is to provide a non-medical environment in which women can form friendships and networks that will help them to take on this disease from a place of solidarity and empowerment.

Louella Belle is incredibly proud to support Future Dreams and all the work they do to support Breast Cancer Sufferers, Survivors and their families as well as raising funds for vital research into the disease and raising awareness.
