Louella Belle Top Tips Salon Unique Selling Point

Understand Your Customers

Developing your USP starts with your customers. What do you already know about your target audience and what are they looking to get out of their visit to a salon and what needs does this market meet for them? Perhaps you’re operating in a busy city centre, so your customer would be looking for a quick, simple solution to a beauty treatment or perhaps your customers are looking for luxury and look for a trust-worthy supplier. By consulting your customers, colleagues and paying attention to your local area’s activities, you should be able to make a list of all the reasons as to why someone would visit your salon above all the rest.

What is your Competitive Advantage?

You should be able to think of a few things that your salon is particularly good at and you feel stands out from the crowd. Make a list of your competitors, whether they are direct such as other salons, or indirect like beauty treatments, and make sure you are updated on all of their activity. Here at Louella Belle, you can sign up to our newsletter to be the first to hear about our new collection launches, and even receive exclusive offers and promotions.

Think A Little Broader

At the same time, you need to look at those needs that aren’t being met and also think about key trends in the industry. Check out our previous posts on Keeping Up With Beauty Trends to find out the best ways of keeping up with all the goings on in the industry. If nails are your thing, here at Louella Belle we offer products for both ends of the spectrum. Offer your customers a vast range of colour options with Artistic Colour Gloss, but also make sure you are taking care of their nails with the IBX Treatments, Dadi’Oil cuticle oil and the Cinnatize nail cleanser.

Test & Refine

It’s always important to reflect on any changes or improvements you have made. Ask your customers to fill in a survey and perhaps offer a free treatment as an incentive. This feedback will become incredibly valuable when going forward with your brand and developing your USP.

Communicate Your USP

Your USP should be the driving force behind your business strategy, and at the front of every business decision you make. Whether you are designing a new website or taking on a new brand, always ask yourself – does this communicate the brand and image of your USP clearly to your audience? The brands that you offer should be an integral part of marketing your business, so make sure you communicate this with your customers. Louella Belle’s brands all have marketing materials that are available to support this, so be sure to contact marketing@louellabelle.co.uk for any enquires.
